Cameron has been practicing exclusively in the area of family law since his call to the Ontario Bar in 1995. He has received advanced training in alternative dispute resolution and collaborative law and is one of the founding members and former two term Board member of the Collaborative Practice Toronto Group, now with over 100 members. Cameron applies various skills (including an understanding of small-medium sized businesses and wealth management within the context of Ontario family law) to meet the individual needs of his clients.
Cameron encourages clients to participate in child-centered, negotiated settlements in order to ensure that the best interests of their children prevail. Cameron’s objective is to help clients to understand how they can reach resolution through various avenues without the court process, recognizing that realistically, some matters require judicial intervention in order to achieve closure. Cameron considers litigation to be just one tool in the conflict resolution toolbox.
Cameron’s commitment to his clients is to assist them, calling upon all of his skills, in achieving timely, cost-effective and efficient resolutions. Recognizing that separation can be an isolating experience, Cameron helps his clients to put supports in place by calling upon, where appropriate, trusted resources that clients sometimes do not know are available to them during these difficult transitions, including coaches, financial planners, valuators and accountants.
